GFA Comms Director Henry Asante Twum: Ghana football on the right path and Black Stars will improve soon

Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association(GFA), Henry Asante Twum, says the country’s football cannot be called a dead product when some teams are performing well continentally.

He cited the successes of the Black Satellites and the Princesses at the just ended African Games, where they both won gold medals.

Also pointed at Dreams FC reaching the semis of the CAF Confederation as well as the Princess also qualifying for the World Cup.

Despite these, many other products of the GFA are not doing well. The Black Stars’ performances are still on a downward trajectory while many other junior teams are struggling.

Asante Twum was speaking in an interview with Kumasi-based Akoma FM.

“Ghana football is not dead. Our football cannot be called a dead product when we qualify for the Women’s World Cup, win gold medals in both male and female competition.

“And we have Dreams FC in the semi-finals of the CAF Confederations Cup so our football is not dead.

“Also, the Black Stars will be well-positioned to compete very soon. Let’s all remain calm as the new team works assiduously to get us back to where we belong.”

The Ghana Football Association are now gearing up for the Futsal Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, commencing in April 11.

The Black Queens also gear up for the 2024 Womens Afcon and the Black Star’s has two 2026 World Cup qualifiers in May.
