Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets pass eligibility test ahead of WAFU B U-17 Championship

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced on Tuesday that all 20 players presented by Nigeria for the WAFU B U17 Championship have passed their eligibility tests with flying colors.

This declaration is a significant endorsement of the pre-departure tests conducted by the Nigeria Football Federation, ensuring the team is fully compliant with CAF’s regulations.

“We are happy about the results. Having the whole squad to prosecute the tournament somewhat puts our minds at rest,” head coach Manu Garba expressed in reaction to the news.

With this green light, the Golden Eaglets are poised to defend the title, having won the championship last year in Ghana.

The Nigerian U17 team will commence their title defense against Burkina Faso at the University of Ghana Stadium on Thursday, May 16, with the match scheduled to start at 3PM.

Following this, the Eaglets will face Niger Republic on Sunday, May 19. Their final group stage match will be against Togo on Wednesday, May 22, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
