Kudos to the technical team, we had the right analysis on Cote d’Ivoire – Laryea Kingston

Ghana U17 Coach, Laryea Kingston applauded his technical team and the players for the victory in the Wafu Zone B tournament opener against Cote d’Ivoire.

The Black Starlets dismantled the Ivorian u17 in a rip-roaring 5-1 victory in the WAFU Zone B U17 Cup of Nations on Wednesday afternoon.

Joseph Narbi opened the scoring in the 27th minute and added the second in the 42nd minute.

After half time, Godfred Sarpong made it 3-0 in the 48th minute before the Baby Elephants netted their first goal of the game.

At 3-1, Herve Gbafa, and Mark Kawaga Mensah compounded matters for the West Africans neighbours by making it five in the 53rd and 90+1minute respectively.

Laryea Kingston with a heartfelt win expressed his pleasure and effort in such a convincing win,

“We know the Ivorians are a football country but with the help of the technical team and analysts we monitored them from their preparations prior to this tournament.

“We watched their game against Argentina and that of France and focused on their movement on and off the ball and did an opponent analysis based on that.

“Regardless of our game plan and style of play, we still focused on our opponent and how they play and it worked perfectly well for us.

“Kudos to the players too for the win. Now we switch to our next game and prepare.”

The Starlets will prepare ahead of their clash against Benin on May 21, 2024.
