Nsoatreman FC, the reigning Ghana FA Cup champions, have appointed Yaw Preko as their new head coach.
Preko replaces Maxwell Konadu, who has moved to South African second-tier side Black Leopards.
Under Konadu’s guidance, Nsoatreman clinched the FA Cup title, defeating local rivals Bofoakwa Tano in a penalty shootout. Despite the team’s growing faith in Konadu, he chose to pursue a new opportunity in South Africa.
Preko, 49, has signed a two-year contract with Nsoatreman. The former Black Stars player faces the challenge of leading the team in the 2024/25 CAF Confederation Cup.
He is also expected to build on the club’s fourth-place finish in the Ghana Premier League this season.
This appointment marks Preko’s return to club management following his departure from Great Olympics in June 2023.
Prior to joining Nsoatreman, he was briefly in charge of Ghana’s U-15 national team.
