I wish Ghana and Sudan well in Afcon 2025 qualifiers – Kwasi Appiah

The Ghanaian national football team, the Black Stars, are set to face Sudan in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

Notably, Sudan is coached by Kwasi Appiah, a former Ghana international and ex-head coach of the Black Stars.

In an interview with 3Sports, Appiah shared his hopes for both teams’ success. “There are no minnows in football now,” he stated. “It’s crucial to prepare thoroughly and field the right team to secure a win.”

Appiah expressed his personal aspirations for the qualifiers: “I hope both Ghana and Sudan qualify from this group. That’s my main hope, and I wish both teams the best.”

Ghana, pursuing their fifth AFCON title, will face a competitive Sudanese squad aiming for their 10th AFCON appearance.

Appiah, who led Ghana in the 2014 World Cup and the 2019 AFCON, will now confront his former team as the head coach of Sudan in the upcoming qualifiers.
