Exclusive: BK Hacken snap up Baba Mensah on loan

Swedish top-flight side BK Hacken have had a bid accepted for Ghana defender Baba Mensah, footy-Ghana can exclusively reveal.

The 21-year-old centre-back recently won the best defender award for the 2014/15 Ghana Premier League after featuring 22 times for Tema-based Inter Allies and will now team up with compatriot Nasiru Mohammed when preseason begins late December.

Footy-Ghana can confirm that Baba Mensah has signed to join BK Hacken on a season-long deal with an option to make his stay permanent if he is able to impress manager Peter Gerhadsson.

Hacken who play home on the artificial turf of the Bravida Arena are based in the second largest city in Sweden with a little over a half a million population beat city rivals IFK Gothenburg to the signing of the young Ghana international. They finished 7th and are bent on bridging the gap and overtaking Gothenburg who ended as runners-up after the just ended 2015 season.

Baba Mensah becomes the fifth Inter Allies player (after Prosper Kasim, Lawson Sabah, Patrick Kpozo and Joseph Aidoo) to join the Allsvenskan which is set to run for an unbroken streak of 91 seasons in 2016.

The next campaign for the highest ranked league in the Scandinavia is scheduled to begin in March and end in November 2016.
