Richmond Lamptey expresses readiness for APR FC challenge

Ghanaian midfielder Richmond Lamptey, after joining Rwandan club APR FC on a two-year contract from Kumasi Asante Kotoko, has expressed his enthusiasm and readiness to contribute to his new team.

“I am thrilled and honoured to join APR FC, a club with a rich history and a winning tradition. I am eager to contribute to the team’s success and bring my best to every game,” Lamptey posted on X.

In the 2023/24 season, Lamptey made 17 appearances for Asante Kotoko, setting up five goals as the team finished sixth in the league.

His impressive performances earned him a place in the Black Stars squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.

With his wealth of experience, Lamptey is expected to play a crucial role in APR FC’s pursuit of success both in the Rwandan league and on the continental stage.

The midfielder also showed his appreciation to Asante Kotoko for his three seasons stay in Kumasi.

“I want to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who has been a part of our journey over the past three seasons.

“A special thank you to our life patron, Otumfuo Osei Tutu, for your unwavering support and guidance.”
