Afcon 2025Q: Dates set for Black Stars fixtures enroute Morocco

Ghana’s Black Stars will begin their qualification campaign for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) against Angola on September 2, 2024, according to the schedule released by the Confederation of African Football (Caf).

The qualifiers will be played during the international breaks between September and November 2024 to make way for the 2026 Fifa World Cup qualifiers slated for 2025.

Ghana, four-time winners of the Afcon tournament, will open their Group F campaign at home against Angola before traveling to Niger for their second match.

They will then face Sudan in a double-header in October before concluding their group stage campaign against Angola and Niger in November.

The top two teams from each group will qualify for the 35th edition of the Afcon which will be held in Morocco from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026.
