Ranieri applauds Sulemana’s impact in Cagliari’s draw against Verona

Cagliari Calcio manager, Claudio Ranieri hailed the performance of Ghanaian midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana after his crucial goal helped the team secure a 1-1 draw against Hellas Verona in Monday’s Serie A fixture.

“Sulemana knows how to give great consistency, he has determination, resistance and never stops running,” Ranieri remarked during the post-match press conference.

The young midfielder’s resilience and work rate have not gone unnoticed, with Ranieri pointing out the qualities that make Sulemana a standout player for Cagliari.

Despite facing a setback due to an ankle injury at a pivotal moment in the season, Sulemana’s return to the pitch was timely.

“He hurt his ankle at the best moment, but has recovered, and today it seemed right to give him the final half hour,” Ranieri explained, emphasizing the strategic decision to introduce Sulemana later in the game, which paid dividends as he scored the equalizing goal.

Ranieri’s admiration for Sulemana stems from his time at Verona, where the midfielder’s performances had already caught the veteran coach’s eye.

“I saw him last year in Verona and he had impressed me, he has enormous room for improvement,” Ranieri stated, highlighting the potential he sees in Sulemana.
