The right decisions will be made for the WC qualifiers – Otto Addo

Ghana Head coach Otto Addo, after the two friendlies against Nigeria and Uganda, says the right players will be called for national team duty in June 2024.

The Black Stars, after their 2-1 loss to Nigeria on Tuesday evening drew to the Cranes of Uganda, a game many tipped as a win for the Ghanaians.

The Ghanaians took an early lead in the 6th minute from Jerome Opoku’s header but Uganda equalized through Stephen Mukwala in the 23rd minute from the penalty spot.

Jordan Ayew from the spot gave Ghana the lead before halftime. The Ghanaians could not hold on to the lead as Muhammad Shaban tied the game for the Cranes ending in a 2-2 scoreline.

Coach Otto, before the upcoming World Cup qualifiers, voiced out that the right players will be selected for inclusion in the Black Stars.

“We will be monitoring the players in the upcoming months and then we will take the right conclusions for our upcoming matches in June.”

On his team’s weakness, he realizes the need for improvement.

“We have to improve, we have to improve our defensive positioning, closing gaps, recognizing situations, and then taking the right defensive decisions.”

In the upcoming World Cup qualifiers, Ghana will play Mali in Bamako and later face Central African Republic.
