Afcon 2023: We will fight for Ghana as well as we can – Jordan Ayew

Ghana forward Jordan Ayew is confident about the team’s readiness in their Africa Cup of Nations game against Egypt on Thursday evening.

The Black Stars lost their first group stage encounter 2-1 to Cape Verde and the team is poised to place their tourney on the right track.

“Tomorrow is going to be a tough game. The boys are ready. We’ve put ourselves in this situation and we need to come out of this.

“You never know in football; tomorrow we are ready and we will do our best.

“We will fight and represent Ghana as well as we can, put in a better performance as a team, and hopefully tomorrow everyone will be happy.”

Egypt were held to a 2-2 draw by Mozambique in their first game and Rui Vitoria’s charges will be eager to win as well.

The Black Stars play the Pharaohs at the Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny at 8.00 pm Ghana time.
