The LaLiga-EA Sports seminar, aimed at fostering prospects and support for emerging talents in sub-Saharan Africa, concluded on Saturday, December 15, 2023.
Wrapping up the two-day event that commenced on Friday, participants engaged in a live watch party of the LaLiga match between Athletic Club and Atletico Madrid.
The young players analyzed and provided insights into key play sequences, witnessing Bilbao secure a 2-0 victory.
Benjamin Adofo emerged as the top predictor during a predict-and-win activity, correctly foreseeing the 2-0 scoreline. Adofo was awarded the ultimate prize—a signed Athletic Bilbao jersey.
All three winners received bags of souvenirs from LaLiga.
In his closing remarks, Ayodeji Adegbenro, the Country Project Coordinator for LaLiga Ghana and Nigeria, emphasized the importance of hard work and resilience for aspiring players.
“You need to work hard as young and upcoming players. To be a top professional, you must work hard to achieve that. Believe in yourself and your capabilities, and everything is possible,” he stated.
Three juvenile clubs in Accra, namely AS Koppan, Avranches FC, and 2015 Football Club, were the beneficiaries of the professional development program.
