2023/24 GPL: Richard Danso late strike as Nations hold Hearts [+MATCH HIGHLIGHTS]

Nations FC and Hearts of Oak ended their match-week 15 fixture in the Ghana Premier League with a 1-1 draw at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex on Saturday.

The newbies who have enjoyed a flying form in their recent league game, bagging 15 points from all last five games, were poised to extend their success.

Elsewhere, Hearts looked ready to overcome their 3-2 defeat to arch-rivals Asante Kotoko in Kumasi last Sunday.

And they wasted no precious time to make it count as Hamza Issah put their noses in front with his sixth goal of the season in the ninth minute.

Hearts held on but they gave up to the waves of attacks from Nations in the closing moments. Richard Danso scored a dramatic equaliser in the 94th minute to salvage a point for his team.

Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Richmond Ayi was at fault for the equalizing goal, as he failed to grasp the ball properly, allowing it to slip through his hands.

Nations will play as guests to Bechem United on match-week 16 while Hearts face Great Olympics for the Mantse Derby in their next clash.
