2023/24 Caf CC: John Antwi leads 18-man Dreams FC squad for historic trip to Milo FC

Gearing up for a historic debut in the Caf Confederation Cup, Dreams FC coach Karim Zito has unveiled his carefully selected 18-man squad to represent the club in their upcoming clash against Milo FC De Kankan.

This landmark encounter marks Dreams FC’s first appearance in any continental competition.

The Ghana FA Cup champions are set to take on their Guinean counterparts in a 2023/24 Caf Confederation Cup preliminary round opening leg match on Saturday, August 19, in Conakry.

Leading the charge for Dreams FC is the experienced former Al Ahly striker, John Antwi, who has recently rejoined the ‘Still Believe’ side. Antwi’s experience and goal-scoring prowess are expected to play a pivotal role in the club’s continental campaign.

Joining him are new signings Richard Mensah and Francis Odoom, both of whom have earned their spots in the squad for the significant encounter.

The familiar faces in Zito’s squad include the likes of captain Abdul Jalilu, Huzaif Ali, Sylvester Simba, Gael Aholou, Ishmael Dede, and Agyenim Boateng, all of whom hogged the headlines during the past season.

However, the roster also carries a surprise omission, with midfielder Collins Boah not making the cut for this particular match.

Dreams FC are determined to make a mark on the continental stage and their focus is set on securing a favorable result in the first leg before the return clash at Accra Sports Stadium on August 27.

The carefully curated 18-man travelling squad for Dreams FC’s Caf Confederation Cup debut includes:

Goalkeepers: Solomon Agbasi, Augustine Koomson

Defenders: Emmanuel Adade, Mohammed Abubakar, Solomon Boateng, Frederick Kekeli, Richard Mensah, Abdul Jalilu

Midfielders: Ofori McCarthy, Emmanuel Adjei, Godfred Atuahene, Francis Odoom, Ishmael Dede, Sylvester Simba

Forwards: Abdul Jalilu, Ali Huzaif, Gael Aholou, John Antwi, Agyenim Boateng Mensah
