Asante Kotoko has officially revealed the departure of four players as they prepare for the upcoming 2023/24 season.
Recently, the club bid farewell to young talent Joseph Amoako, who returned to the team following a stint with Swedish outfit Helsingborgs IF.

In a fresh announcement made on Wednesday, August 16, four additional departures were confirmed.
Among them is Mohammed Alhassan, an experienced defender who joined the Porcupine Warriors as a free agent just last February.

Sources indicate that the former Hearts of Oak captain initiated the mutual termination of the remaining year of his contract.
Also exiting the club are left-back Charles Owusu, striker Samuel Boateng, and winger Dickson Afoakwa. The trio, who joined the team in 2021, played diverse roles in securing the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League title under the guidance of coach Prosper Narteh Ogum. However, Ogum’s return saw them fall out of favour.
Asante Kotoko took to their social media platforms to share the news, stating, “The club will like to confirm the departure of these gentlemen by mutual consent.”
“We are grateful for their contributions during their time with us and wish them the very best for the future,” the statement continued.

Sources suggest that Kotoko is also engaged in discussions with a few more players, including Rashid Nortey, Yusif Mubarick, Maxwell Agyemang, Andrews Appau, and Clinton Opoku, regarding their roles with the club going forward. Bar Rashid, these players have not been part of their ongoing pre-season training camp at Beposo.
