Bechem confirm request for astro-turf from Prez Mahama

President and bank roller of Bechem United, Mr Kingsley Owusu Achiaw, has confirmed that his team had requested for an artificial turf from President John Dramani Mahama.

The President had earlier on donated an amount of GH₵50,000 to the club to start preparations on their park ahead of their Africa club competition next year.

Speaking to The Finder newspaper, he said “We are meeting the engineers and will see what can be done with the quantum of money given to us by the President which will not be enough for everything.

“What we requested from the President actually was an astro-turf, so we waiting to see what will happen to that.

“We want an astro-turf because the pitch is not good enough and if we replaced it with an astro-turf it will go a long way help develop football in the area and, especially for our CAF Confederation Cup campaign”.

He also added that for Bechem United to be able to host its Africa matches at home the club is working on meeting the criteria set up by CAF.

He said “the requirement of CAF include a doping room, press box, match co-ordinators office and a few others which we are hoping to get them done because we want to honour the matches in Bechem”.

Bechem United will be participating in the CAF Confederation Cup after winning the 2016 MTN FA Cup final.
