Inter Allies defeat will not affect title aspirations – Darkwah

Aduana Stars midfielder, Daniel Darkwah says his side’s 0-2 loss to Inter Allies will not have negative effect on their title ambitions in the just started Ghana Premier League.

The Dormaa-based outfit who defied all odds to win the domestic top-flight in their debut season in 2010 under the tutelage of experienced trainer Herbert Addo, has vowed to win the 2015/2016 Premier League.

As a result, they have strengthened their team with some strategic signings including former Asante Kotoko trio of Yahaya Mohammed, Joseph Addo and Richard Mpong. They have also maintained the services of long serving players such as Stephen Adams, Emmanuel Akuoko, Godfred Saka and others.

But Nurudeen Ahmed’s men opened their title challenge with a bitter score-line, as two first half goals from Ropapa Mensah and Isaac Twum handed Inter Allies all three points at the Tema Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Darkwah tells Footy-GHANA.com that he is confident Aduana will bounce back in their next Premier League game.

‘’We knew we could draw, lose or win. So we have accepted the defeat in good fate. We will go back to the drawing board to correct the mistakes that caused the defeat to Inter Allies.’’

‘’The defeat will not affect our title ambitions. This is a game out of 30 games. We have a long way to go. I think we need to focus on the other games in order to win those games. I think we can do that because it’s not beyond us,’’ he said.

Aduana Stars will play as hosts to Wa All Stars in their next Premier League game.
