SIDELINED: Jona Mensah out for a month

Ghana defender Jonathan Mensah is set for four weeks on the sidelines after picking up an injury on international duty in the 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifiers.

The Evian TG centre-back limped off in last Tuesday’s 2-0 win over Comoros at the Baba Yara Stadium in a second qualifying round decider.

Mensah initially told reporters the injury was nothing serious but further examinations have revealed he suffered muscle contusion.

As a result he was left out of the Evian squad which lost 2-1 at Tours in the French Ligue 2 on Friday night.

Mensah only returned to first team action in the week leading to the international break having served a four-month ban for breaches in his transfer from Udinese to the French club back in 2011.
