Ernest Nuamah joins Olympique Lyon on permanent deal

Olympique Lyonnais has confirmed the signing of Ghanaian international striker Ernest Nuamah from RWDM on a four-year contract, which will keep him at the club until June 30, 2028.

The deal, valued at €28.5 million, marks a significant investment in the young forward’s potential.

Nuamah initially joined Lyon on loan in the summer of 2023 and quickly made an impact with his dynamic play. Over the past season, the 20-year-old made 33 appearances across all competitions, scoring three goals.

His performances earned him high praise from both the coaching staff and club directors, leading to the decision to secure his services permanently.

The former Right to Dream Academy product first gained prominence at Nordsjaelland in Denmark, where he played 49 matches and scored 20 goals between January 2022 and August 2023.

His speed, strength, and attacking abilities have made him a valuable asset for Lyon.

Nuamah will rejoin his Lyon teammates for preseason training on Monday, July 8, as they gear up for the upcoming Ligue 1 campaign.
