Facing an early setback with a goal conceded in the 5th minute at the Somhlolo National Stadium, the Black Princesses swiftly turned the tide.
Mercy Attobra leveled the score in the 10th minute, capitalizing on a well-placed cross from Beline Nyarko.
Building on their momentum, Ghana seized control of the game, with Beline Nyarko skillfully converting Hellen Alormenu’s cross in the 28th minute, securing a lead by halftime.
Coach Yusif Basigi’s side continued their dominance in the second half, with Wasiima Mohammed extending the lead with a superb strike in the 49th minute, bringing the score to 3-1. Midfielder Success Ameyaa then orchestrated the fourth goal, setting up Sarah Nyarko in the 59th minute.
In the 80th minute, eSwatini conceded an own goal, further widening Ghana’s advantage to 5-1.
Mercy Attobra sealed a resounding victory for the Black Princesses with her second goal in the 86th minute, concluding the match with a 6-1 triumph.
The return fixture will see Ghana host eSwatini at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, November 19, where the Black Princesses aim to consolidate their lead and secure a spot in the final round of the qualifiers, where they could face either Senegal or Uganda.
