‘Win your matches for me’ – Asantehene tells Kotoko players

The Owner and Life Patron of Kotoko, the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has urged the playing body of the club to do everything within their power to win their matches in the ongoing Premier League.

The Asantehene said, the recent outcomes of the team’s matches were disturbing. He said Kotoko needed to back on track to restore joy in the hearts of the fans of which he’s number one.

The Asantehene assured the players of his total support, saying that, no one loves the club more than he does.

“I have confidence in you. I know and I’m also told that you are capable of doing it. I want you to win your matches” he demanded.

He asked the players to accord interim head coach, Michael Osei the needed respect as he has been told he’s now in charge of the team’s technical affairs.

The King’s visit to the Adako Jachie training on Tuesday evening was unannounced.

He interacted with the General Manager, Opoku Nti and Operations Manager, George Kennedy as the players trained under the close watch of interim head coach, Michael Osei.

Shortly after the training session, the Asantehene engaged the players.

He found out from them what was wrong – asking whether there were outstanding issues relative to their bonuses, salaries and singing on fees to which the players answered in the negative.

The Asantehene encouraged the players to be open about issues in the club. He advised them to work hard and be professionals at all times.

Captain Amos Frimpong on behalf of his teammates, thanked the Asantehene. He asked for a new team bus to which the Asantehene promised to provide.

As the King left the training ground, fans outside the inner perimeter appealed to him to address them. He walked straight to them and first gave the assurance that, all will be well soon.

The fans listened with rapt attention as the Asantehene recalled everything he told the players. The fans consequently expressed satisfaction with his assurances, promising that, they would be at the stadium to cheer the team when they play this weekend.
