GPL: Latif Blessing fires Kotoko warning

Liberty Professionals midfielder Latif Blessing has fired shots ahead of Sunday’s Ghana Premier League match day 7 clash away to Kotoko, saying they should look for another opponent to revive their season.

Asante Kotoko has had to endure a troubled start to the season with the club’s management forced to ask head coach David Duncan to step aside as it seeks to halt their poor run of results – a decision, reactions from which has caused massive embarrassment to the club earlier this week.

The club was on Tuesday promised of a brand new bus by life patron Otumfuo Osei Tutu during an unannounced visit to the team’s training only if they end up defeating the Scientific Soccer Lads at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.

But Latif, who has four goals to his credit in the on-going league says such plans will not materialized.

“I will score against Kotoko on Sunday and I will not celebrate because of the love I have for Asanteman,” he told Kumasi-based radio station Ashh FM.

“Kotoko should find another team to beat to get their bus from Otumfuo because we are going to win against them on Sunday,” he added.

Latif netted twice last week when Liberty scored five past current league champions Ashanti Gold at the Dansoman Carl Rendorf Park.

Kotoko is bottom of the league table with five points whiles Liberty occupies the 4th position with 10 points.
