Wa All Stars handed Accra Hearts of Oak its first defeat of the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League on match day 6 with a 3-1 victory at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
The visitors shot into the lead in the 19th minute through Kweku Asuandzie Baffoe who appeared offside but Referee Ernest Baafi and his assistants allowed the goal to stand.
The decision to award the goal saw displeased fans resort to throwing water missiles at the match officials bringing the game to a halt for almost five minutes.
In the 35th minute, All Stars recorded their second goal on the day through Richard Arthur from a lightning counter attack. The first half ended 2-0.
Musah Ibrahim who had come on for Kenneth Okoro at the tail end of first half brought brought the Phobians back into the game, reducing the deficit by a goal with a header in the 50th minute.
AllStars however extended their lead through Emmanuel Ocran, who managed to beat Samuel Akurugu with a swerving strike from the edge of the box.
The 3-1 victory for All Stars sees them swapping positions with the Phobians with the Wa side now topping the league table on 14 points. Hearts are just behind with a point less.
