LIST: Ghana’s provisional squad for U-20 WWCup hits camp Sunday

Ghana coach Yusif Basigi has named his preliminary squad for the 2018 Fifa U-20 Women’s World Cup in France.

The Black Princesses are scheduled to hit camp from Sunday, May 13 at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.

The list comprises 31 home-based players and six plying their trades outside the shores of Ghana – namely: Ernestina Abambila, Gifty Acheampong, Gifty Ayew, Kayza Massey, Kate Adu Agyemang and Belinda Anane.

Two names will be dropped from the list of 37 for official submission as Ghana’s provisional squad for the World Cup as the tournament rules allows space for 35.

Coach Basigi will then be expected to prune the squad to a final 21 for submission to Fifa by July 23.

The Black Princesses of Ghana are housed in Group A of the 2018 Fifa U-20 Women’s World Cup alongside hosts France, Netherlands and New Zealand.

The tournament is scheduled for August 5-24, 2018.
