Hearts of Oak’s Commercial Manager resigns after 11 months

Less than a year after taking the Commercial Affairs Manager job, Kwaku Sakyi Quashie has parted ways with Accra Hearts of Oak.

In June 2017, Sakyi Quashie was appointed as the man responsible for the financial management of projects, putting together bids for new sponsorship deals and negotiating and agreeing contracts on behalf of the Phobians.

But his department struggled to get desired results with even the Phobians’ official recently claiming “we have not been able to brand the club well for sponsorship because there are vampires sucking blood” in a radio interview.

Sakyi Quashie is believed to have been left frustrated by some internal wrangling hence the decision to leave the job.

Confirming news of his resignation, Kwaku Sakyi Quashie said the decision was personal.

“The decision was not an easy one to be made but it was needful. “It’s a personal decision best for me,” he told Kumasi-based Nhyira FM Saturday.

“I sat down with the people that mattered most in the club about my decision for two weeks…

“I take this opportunity to say thank you to the Hearts of Oak fans. I’m highly grateful for the opportunity,” Kwaku Sakyi Quashie added.
