Black Starlets of Ghana interim coach, Nana Kwaku Agyemang highlighted his side’s lapses in the defeat to Nigeria on Tuesday evening.
The national U17 men’s side succumbed 2-3 to Nigeria in the closing moments of the game from Abdulmuiz Adeleke’s strike.
And as a result, Nigeria have earned the spot to compete in the U17 Africa Cup of Nations.
Agyemang, who has been in the helm of affairs, three days after the resignation of coach Laryea Kingston admits his side were unimpressive in the dying minutes of the clash.
“It is difficult to accept. We played our hearts out but at the end of the day, preparatory mistakes cost us.
“Whatever the case, we will have to buckle up and improve in our subsequent opportunities to play and compete in Africa.”
Ghana will now await the allocation of slots from CAF for WAFU Zone B ahead of the U-17 AFCON competition, hoping to secure their place in the tournament despite the setback.
