George Afriyie undecided on GFA Presidential ambitions in 2027

Football Administrator, George Afriyie, is yet to decide the next move concerning his Presidential ambitions in the Ghana Football Association(GFA).

The former GFA Vice President’s uncertainty is as a result of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) upholding his disqualification decision by the Elections Committee during the 2023 Elections.

George Afriyie’s omission from the Presidential Elections of the GFA was for using an ineligible candidate to endorse his form.

A decision upheld by the GFA Appeals Committee in 2023 and finally, global sports adjudicatory body, CAS, in early May.

Moving on, Afriyie emphasizes that its early days to decide his next plan, especially with approximately three years until the next Ghana Football Association (GFA) election.

“Nobody knows tomorrow. I have not taken any decision yet, but in life, you just have to focus and do what you want to do, and then when there is time and opportunity to do anything, why not?”

“I just gave my opinion, and I said per what the CAS ruling is, I have accepted it, so we move,” Afriyie affirmed in an interview with Graphic Sports.

Kurt Okraku, the current GFA President ends his tenure in 2027.
