Samartex FC bounced back to winning ways with a narrow home victory over Great Olympics in their surge for the Ghana Premier League crown.
The league leaders are now seven points away from second-placed Nations FC who recorded a goalless draw at home against Bibiani Goldstars.
Substitute Kwasi Ofosu came off the bench to score the only goal of the game in the 82nd minute after a torrid first half at the Nsenkyire Sports Complex.
The win is Samartex’s 16th of the league campaign – their 13th victory at home. Impressive!
A win was crucial for coach Nurudeen Amadu’s after their fall off in match-week 27, losing to Asante Kotoko.

With a seven-point gap and six games to end the 2023/24 league season, Samartex will need to maintain the margin with wins.
And should the points difference remain seven, a draw on match-week 32 will crown them champions.
They play RTU in Tamale in their next clash.
Great Olympics have been struggling with consistency in the league and the loss to Samartex was their 10th of the campaign.
The Dade Boys lie 14th after 28 games and they have got some big duels in May. Medeama at home, Legon Cities away, Chelsea away then the big two.
Kotoko at the Baba Yara Stadium and the Mantse Derby against Hearts of Oak, all in June.
