Inaki Williams talks Black Stars experience, yearns for success

Ghana forward Inaki Williams has reflected on his time with the Black Stars since making his debut at the 2022 Fifa World Cup.

The Spanish-based forward enjoys the time spent with the national team and adds it has played a crucial role in his career development.

Inaki has so far played two tournaments with the Black Stars and is yet to hit his best form for the team.

“I would never have imagined this. I had to make a decision and I don’t regret being able to represent the country of my parents and my family.

“To go back to my origins, to be able to travel more and see my loved ones in Ghana, I love it,” Williams told Club del Deportista.

“It’s true that things didn’t work out as we’d all hoped, but it’s true that on a sporting and personal level, it helped me a lot. In fact, I think I’m in one of my best moments thanks to this decision.”

Inaki scored Ghana’s winner against Madagascar in Kumasi last November and that’s his only goal with the team.

The Athletic Bilbao forward has been in satisfactory form this season, netting 11 goals and five assists in 31 appearances across all competitions.
