Black Stars physical trainer Romeo Ricky Roy has passed away

Black Stars of Ghana physical trainer, Romeo Ricky Roy, has sadly passed away.

He died on Sunday, April 28, in Accra, after expressing feeling unwell for some days.

He became known in Ghanaian football circles after saving a player’s life in 2020 during a Division One League match between Vision FC and Agbozume Weavers

Roy joined the senior men’s national team in 2021 and was at the African Cup of Nations with Milovan Rajevac as the head coach.

Additionally, Ricky was in charge of the physical training sessions of the team during the World Cup 2022 in Qatar and the AFCON 2023 in Abidjan.

Roy, a key member of Otto Addo’s charges, had two assignment in June; the team’s World Cup qualifier against Mali and Central African Republic.
