2023/24 Caf CL: Simba defeated in Tanzania as Ahmed Koka sets Al Ahly ahead for second leg clash
Egyptian giants Al Ahly SC has defeated Simba SC in the first leg of the 2023/24 Caf Champions League quarter-finals.
The stage was set in Dar es Salaam’s Benjamin Nkapa Stadium, where 60,000 fervent fans fueled the atmosphere.
Despite Simba’s relentless pursuit, Al Ahly’s seasoned squad secured a 1-0 victory, Ahmed Kouka sealing the deal early on.
Simba’s efforts, however, were valiant, with Clatous Chama nearly equalizing in the 22nd minute. Mostafa Shobeir, standing in for Al Ahly’s top goalkeeper, Mohamed El Shenawy, showcased his prowess with crucial saves throughout the match.
Despite the setback, Simba remained resolute, pressing forward relentlessly.
