Black Queens suffered a 1-0 defeat against Zambia in their 2024 Olympic Games qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday evening.
Racheal Kundananji’s goal in the 18th minute sealed the victory for the Copper Queens who will be poised to cap off their lead at home in the second leg.

Ghana coach Nora Hauptle selected Doris Boaduwaa and Evelyn Badu to lead the attack while Freda Ayisi was handed a debut against Zambia.

The Queens, after conceding in the first half, attacked their guests on all sides but they met a resolute defence till half time.
After the break, Zambia continued their solid defensive play to win the first leg as Ghana failed to restore parity.
Not even the introduction of Comfort Yeboah and Gifty Assifuah could change the result.

Ghana now face a daunting task in Ndola if they hope to keep their Olympic dreams alive.
The winner of the clash will go on to face the victor between Tunisia and Morocco in a crucial showdown for the coveted Olympic spot.
