In the first half, Medeama looked the much livelier side to grab the lead but they struggled to beat the experienced defence of Ahly.
After the half time break, the Champions League record holders showed quality in the game, finding their rhythm and dictating the tempo of the clash.
It was through one of their attacking moves on the flanks that resulted in the goal from El Shahat for the win.

Ahly then closed the game despite all the attacking moves by Medeama who looked pale and immature in attack.
The Ghanaians travel to Algeria for their final group game against CR Belouizdad while Ahly play Young Africans.
