Kudus on target as West Ham kick Arsenal out of Carabao Cup

Ghana international Mohammed Kudus delivered a stellar performance, finding the back of the net, as West Ham United secured a convincing 3-1 victory over Arsenal in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup at the London Stadium on Wednesday night.

The win propels the Hammers into the quarterfinals of the competition.

The match took a dramatic turn early on as an own goal by Arsenal’s Ben White, in the 15th minute set the tone for the Gunners’ disappointing exit. A Jarrod Bowen corner was inadvertently headed into the net by White at the near post, putting West Ham in the lead.

The second goal arrived in the 50th minute, as Kudus displayed his exceptional control and finishing skills. He elegantly collected a long ball into the box from Moroccan defender Nayef Aguerd, skillfully maneuvered past Oleksandr Zinchenko, and fired a low shot through the legs of Gabriel, finding the back of the net.

Jarrod Bowen extended the lead to 3-0 in the 60th minute, further asserting West Ham’s dominance.

Kudus, who now boasts four goals in his Hammers’ account since joining from Ajax in the summer, was substituted in the 89th minute, having made a substantial impact on the match.

Although Martin Odegaard managed to score a consolation goal for Arsenal with the last kick of the game, it was West Ham’s night as they confidently advanced into the last-8 of the Carabao Cup.
