It was all Samartex through the first half and the early goal played a massive section of their triumph as they maintained a much-composed defence and balanced midfield play.
That set them up for a good result in the second half while Legon Cities plundered in vain with the few attacks made.
This impressive win propelled FC Samartex to third place on the league table, accumulating 13 points after eight rounds of matches. The Timber Giants play Berekum Chelsea in their next game.
Meanwhile, Legon Cities find themselves in seventh position on the league table, accumulating 11 points following their defeat and will welcome Medeama in the match- week nine fixtures.
