Ghana coach Chris Hughton’s thoughts on team’s cohesion

Ghana coach Chris Hughton is now focused on building his side’s cohesion with the upcoming games before the Africa Cup of Nations in January 2024.

The team’s recent matches under the experienced gaffer has not produced the glittering display the Black Stars are noted for.

For Hughton, the game’s against Liberia, the Mexico and USA clashes will all play a key role in team cohesion.

“We have to take note of the team we have. We came to meet 10 new players who had just been integrated into the side.

“There are injuries and fitness problems to some senior players too and all that adds up to the cohesion of our play.

“So the cohesion will come with time. As we get to play more games, continue to improve our play we will get there.

“We have got some friendly games before the AFCON and that’s good for us. We will use these matches to get ourselves ready on all fronts.”

Ghana qualified to the World Cup after beating Central African Republic 2-1 in Kumasi.
