Legacy Foundation donates cash, trophies at Ashanti Region Inter-School Boys Soccer Competition

The 2023 Ashanti Region Inter-School Boys Soccer Competition ended on Tuesday with Simms College being crowned winners of the tourney after beating Osei Kyeretwie Senior High School(OKESS).

At the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, it was all glitz and glamour for the Fawoade-based school who claimed the title with a 5-3 penalty shootout victory over OKESS.

The two teams displayed exciting football and shared the spoils with a 1-1 result in a much-tensed atmosphere in regular time at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

After the game, Legacy Foundation, a non-profit organization based in Ghana, donated items worth thousands of cedis to the schools and their participants.

Simms College received GHC1000 for winning the competition while OKESS were awarded GHC700 for finishing second.

Third-place school Our Lady of Grace Senior High School had GHC500 as well.

Legacy also ensured the motivation of the outstanding players in the competition, in line with their motive of youth development and career support.

Trophies were awarded to the Best Player, Most Promising Player and the Topscorer of the competition.

Furthermore, the Best Goalkeeper received goalkeepers gloves for his stupendous performance throughout the tourney.

Also, the Foundation, before the start of the knockout stages donated cartons of mineral water to six schools; Prempeh College, Asanteman SHS, Osei Kyeretwie SHS, Kumasi Anglican SHS, Opoku Ware School and T.I Ahmadiyya SHS, Kumasi.
