Vincent Atingah: Ex-Hearts defender joins Medeama till 2023

Former Hearts of Oak defender, Vincent Atingah has secured a return to the Ghana Premier League with Medeama SC.

The centre-back sealed terms of a two-and-a-half-year contract and signed with the Tarkwa-based Mauve and Yellows Thursday.

Atingah, 27, was first linked to Great Olympics a couple of weeks ago before Aduana swayed his attention.

However, Medeama came in strongly to sweep the 2017 Wafu Cup winner with Ghana off his feet.

Vincent Atingah started his topflight career at Ebusua Dwarfs before joining Hearts of Oak where he played for three seasons before leaving as a free agent in November 2017.

He went on to sign for Albanian club KF Tirana and then enjoyed stints at Kuwaiti sides Al Qadsia and Al Shabab.

Medeama SC – fifth and four points of top spot in the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League standings – are keen on winning their maiden topflight title this campaign.

The two-time FA Cup winners have so far bolstered their squad with the recall of Prince Opoku Agyemang from loan in South Africa, Burkinabe international Amed Toure, Zakaria Mumuni, Benjamin Arthur and former AS Vita Club defender Coulibaly Zana Oumar.
