Danlad Ibrahim: Kotoko offer goalkeeper loan as bait in bid to sign Kwame Peprah

Asante Kotoko are prepared to allow goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim to join King Faisal as part of their deal to secure the services of striker Kwame Peprah.

As earlier reported, the Porcupine Warriors officially wrote to their city rivals over the 9-goal striker on Thursday. The letter included a transfer offer reported to be $21,000, a 20% onward fee plus a loan player for the rest of the 2020/21 season.

And that player has emerged to be young goalkeeper Danlad who just returned from winning the 2021 Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations with the Black Satellites.

The U-20 Afcon Golden Glove winner is the last in the pecking order of Kotoko’s four registered goalkeepers this season – behind Razak Abalora, Felix Annan and Kwame Baah.

The 18-year-old had a request to be released to search for regular playing time at the start of the season turned down and may get his wish now should he accept to be part of the Peprah deal.

Faisal, sources indicate, appear interested in the Kotoko offer and have responded to the Porcupines’ request, asking them to come forward for a detailed discussion – one which they are expected to demand more in the transfer fees for Peprah.

Asante Kotoko face competition from Dreams FC, Hearts of Oak and Legon Cities in the race to bolster their attack with the signing of Kwame Peprah from King Faisal.
