Asante Kotoko have signed defender Imoro Ibrahim on a four-year contract from lower-tier side Thunder FC.
Imoro, a 20-year-old left-back, secured the transfer after training with the club for two weeks.
“Kotoko is the biggest club in Ghana and among the biggest clubs in Africa. It is always a pleasure and a dream come true for a player like me to wear the club’s colours. It is a massive leap in my career and I promise to give it everything that I have got,” he is quoted by the Kotoko Express App as saying.
“The team has a lot of good and experienced players who I will be learning from. I want to help the club to win trophies both here in Ghana and international and so is ready to work very hard to help anytime I am called upon to play,” Imoro added.
The quick left-footed player, who also functions well on the wings, arrives with a wealth of talent, prospect and experience having played for Ghana Premier League sides Bolga All Stars and Karela United as well as Israeli giants, Hapoel Tel-Aviv.
Imoro Ibrahim was a member of the recent home-based Black Stars squad which failed to qualify for the 2020 CHAN tournament but finished second at the 2019 Wafu Cup of Nations held in and won by Senegal.
