2019 U-20 Afcon: Satellites to know group opponents today

Ghana will know their opponents for the 2019 Africa Under-20 Cup of Nations finals later today (Thursday, December 13).

The draw for the 15th edition of the biennial youth football tournament will take place at Centre Technique de La Fenifoot in Niamey, the capital city of host nation Niger at 20:00 GMT.

The Black Satellites qualified for the eight-nation championship after beating West African neighbours Benin 4-2 over two legs in August.

Aside Ghana, the qualified teams for the edition of the youth tournament include Niger (hosts), South Africa, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Burundi and Mali.

Draw procedure:

The competition is scheduled for February 2-17 in two cities – Niamey and Maradi.

The 2019 U-20 Afcon serves as qualifiers to the World Cup in Poland later in the same year. Africa will be represented by four teams.
