Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has described his loan move back to the UAE as “home coming”.
Gyan, 30, on Wednesday sealed a year loan deal with current champions Al Ahli to reunite with ex-coach Cosmin Olariou.
The Black Stars skipper in his first interview after the deal was sealed said “I want to tell all the fans of UAE that I am back to UAE, I’m back home, the relationship I had with the people of UAE was fantastic so I had to come back to continue with the relationship we had”.
“I also have to thank Cosmin Olariou so much because we had four great seasons together and everything was great, I would like to thank the fans of for the love and everything they showed to me, Sheik Abdullah, Shiek Mohammed, the support they gave me, Sheik Azar, I thank everybody so much for making me feel great in UAE”.
Asamoah Gyan was the top scorer in the 2014 Asian Champions League with 12 goals and scored seven goals in 15 appearances last season for Shanghai SIPG and will be in the number 90 shirt.
