The Ghana Under-20 male football team, Black Satellites have been defeated 3-1 by their Senegalese counterparts in the first leg of the 2017 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations final qualifying stage tie.
The match played at the Demba Diop Stadium in Dakar Saturday afternoon saw the hosts take the lead as early as the 11th minute with a well-executed free kick by Ibrahima Niane.
Tema Youth forward Jonah Osabuteh equalized fir Ghana in the 22nd minute but Niane restored the lead for the coach Joseph Koto boys three minutes later.
Idrissa Ndiaye further added to Ghana’s woes, the third goal in the 58th minute after feeding onto a pass in a counter attacking move which saw the Ghana defenders falling off. Ndiaye coolly collected a squared pass in his path before releasing a left-footed low grounder to which goalkeeper Kwame Baah had no answer.

With the score ending at 3-1, Ghana have the daunting task of securing at least a 2-0 win the return encounter on July 22 in order to secure the available ticket to participate in the U-20 Afcon scheduled for Zambia next year.
