Super clash: Michael Osei lauds Kotoko character

Interim Asante Kotoko coach, Michael Osei has praised his players for their positive attitude in Monday’s victory over Hearts of Oak.

Asante Kotoko beat Hearts of Oak by a solitary goal at the Accra Sports Stadium in match day 10 of the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League. Goalkeeper Soulama Abdoulaye failed to clear a Richard Akrofi back pass with the ball ending up in his own net.

The victory kept the Porcupines’ unbeaten record at the nation’s capital against their bitterest rivals intact and Michael Osei attributes the win to his players’ spirited performance on the afternoon.

“I must congratulate my players. They showed character on the field of play especially when we were one man down,” he told the media after the game.

“They really gave in their all, they were disciplined on the day and played according to instructions. It is a very good win for me as a coach and the club as a whole,” he added.

Kotoko have moved to ninth position on the league table with 14 points and welcome Ebusua Dwarfs to the Baba Yara Stadium on May 8 on match day 11 of the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League.
