Tema-based Inter Allies walloped Berekum Chelsea by 3-1 in a mid-week clash on match day 14 of the Ghana Premier League.
Allies, who find themselves at the relegation zone on the league log needing a string of wins to boost their chances of beating the drop, got things going their way on Wednesday.
As early as the 10th minute, Edward Ajaklo opened the scoring for the home side, his first ever goal in the league – their work rate was a clear indication they were out to cause havoc against the former league champions.
The home side were boosted by the early goal and with a thirst to score more, they dominated the visitors in all departments of the game.
Their dominance paid off on the 24th minute as they were awarded a penalty. Fredrick Boateng made no mistake as he slotted in to increase their goal tally. Three minutes to the end of first half, Fredrick Boateng once again score the third goal of the day and his personal second.
After the break, Allies made their first substitution as Wahab Ackwei replaced Sheriff Deo Mohammed in the 47th minute.
The visitors looked dazed and unable to pick up the pace and chase with the young lads, failing to stop the home side from their first half dominance.
Chelsea started to ask questions by bombarding the defence area of Allies from the 75th minute, showing glimpses of awakening from their slumber.
Finally, a penalty was awarded the Blues. Leading scorer and captain of the side, Sadick Adams scored a consolation in the 87th minute to end the game 3-1.
