Match day 12 of the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League saw a new entrant in the top four places in former champions Asante Kotoko who had been flirting in the second half of the log for a greater chunk of games played so far.
The Porcupine Warriors having placed at the bottom of the log as at the end of match day 6 have enjoyed a meteoric rise with five wins from a possible six since asking head coach David Duncan to step aside. Kotoko on Wednesday, emerged victors if a tricky trio to Bechem United who were yet to lose at home this campaign. Winger Frank Sarfo Gyamfi had his second half strike breaking the record.
The status quo remained the same at the top of the log as the two top teams each secured a win on match day 12. Leaders Accra Hearts of Oak increased their tally to 24 points after posting a 1-0 victory over Sekondi Hasaacas in an empty Accra Sports Stadium. The Phobians who have been sanctioned to play the home game behind closed doors scored what turned out to be the only goal of the game through Isaac Mensah as early as the 10th minute.
Aduana conitnued their impressive run with an important victory on the road at the Len Clay Stadium. Godfred Saka’s first half strike ensured the Dormaa lads secure all three points from their hosrs New Edubiase United.
Two minutes and two goals were produced as hosts Inter Allies were frustrated to a 1-1 draw by league champions AshantiGold. Frederick Boateng broke the deadlock in the 61st minute but the lead was shortlived just a minute after. Young forward Dauda Mohammed earned a penalty and elected himself to convert.
Ebusua Dwarfs and Berekum Chelsea settled for goalless draw at the Cape Coast Robert Mensah.
A late Latif Blessing goal handed Liberty Professionals a point away to Dreams FC at the Dawu Park. Lawson Bekui struck twice for the hosts with Bernard Arthur pulling one back in between, before Blessing came up to score his 9th goal of the season. 2-2 it ended. Latif Blessing now ties with Aduana Stars’ Yahaya Mohammed atop the scorers’ chart.
Togolese import Komlan Agbegneidan scored on his league debut for Academy boys who travelled to secure a 1-1 draw against All Stars in Wa on Wednesday. Emmanuel Ocran scored for All Stars.
