WAFA SC moved to fifth on the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League table after a 2-0 win over Ebusua Dwarfs in Sogakope on Sunday.
The Academy Boys played without top scorer Samuel Tetteh who is serving a ban following his sending off in midweek against Hearts of Oak in Accra. In his absence, the mantle fell on Justice Amate, Junior High School pupil.
Charles Boateng opened the scoring in the 14th minute when he slotted home past Frank Andoh after being put through inside the box by captain Martin Antwi.
Substitute Ibrahim Tanko then profited from a some dodgy defending from Dwarfs centre-back Kingsley Nteng to shoot past the goalkeeper.
It was Tanko’s debut Ghana Premier League since joining the Academy Boys this season from Mighty Jets.
WAFA SC travel to Bechem United next Sunday to replicate the form which saw them earn a point at Hearts of Oak in midweek.
