Techiman City coach, Yusif Abubakar maintains his side will continue to work hard after coming so close to securing a shock away win in the Ghana Premier League.
Techiman City were denied full points away to New Edubiase on Sunday by an 89th minute Samed Ibrahim equalizer which saw them play out a 2-2 draw at the Len Clay Stadium. Iddrisu Mohammed and Stephen Manu had given them a 2-1 lead till the late equalizer.
The former Hearts of Oak trainer asserts that is the crucial point of the season and any slip could threaten their campaign, and his side will put in much effort to amass maximum points in upcoming matches.
“The higher you go, the tougher it becomes. This is the stage that you can assess your team properly.
“Somebody may be weak at this time, injuries may set in, and suspension of cards may come in, so this is the actual time that the league is going to be competitive,” the coach asserts
Abubakar said his side will remain positive and focused and will not rest on their oars after the draw with New Edubiase. He believes they must put the results behind them and concentrate on the next game at ‘The Den’ in Techiman.
“I believe the next game at home, we are going to prepare hard. We don’t have to be complacent at all. We are going to prepare towards that,” coach Abu stated.
The citizens, debutants in Ghana’s elite division, have climbed sixth on the league log with 10 points after securing a 2-2 draw against New Edubiase on Sunday in the Ghana Premier League.
They host in-form Hearts of Oak next on match day 7.
