GPL: Michael Osei attributes Kotoko victory to players’ hardwork

Stand-in Asante Kotoko coach Michael Osei has credited his players for a hard fought victory over Dreams FC in the ongoing 2015/2016 Ghana Premier League.

Kotoko won by a goal courtesy Dauda Mohammed in the first minute of the game at the Dawu Park on Wednesday in a match day 8 – a first away victory for the club in the season.

Michael Osei, who took over the club after David Duncan was asked to step aside has won all three games, against Liberty Professionals and Dreams in the league and a MTN FA Cup triumph over Tumu Real 24 Hours. He recognizes the efforts of his players after the win.

“The boys have responded very well. We will keep on working hard so we perform better than this. We will rule out any form of complacency because the league has a long way to go.

“We have not achieved the level of play we desire so we won’t relent on our efforts and we will improve one match after the other.” Osei said.

The former player of the club says the win at Dreams will drive the team on to record improved score lines in subsequent matches and this can only be attained by good preparations.

We look forward to recording a better performance against New Edubiase because that is the immediate game. We will prepare very well to secure all the three points at home once we have been able to win here and the morale is high” he added.

Asante Kotoko play hosts to New Edubiase on Saturday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in a match day 9 fixture of the Ghana Premier League. Kickoff is at 6pm.
