GPL: Foovi Aguidi not happy with scoring form

Hearts of Oak striker Foovi Aguidi has revealed he is not happy with his lack of scoring form of late for the club.

Foovi has struggled to break into coach Kenichi’s first eleven for the league and has seen his place taken by new signing Samuel Yeboah.

The Togolese featured for the Phobians last week in the FA Cup as the team lost on penalties to division one side Samartex FC.

He is yet to score a single goal in this season’s campaign and admits he is doubling his efforts to come back big time.

“It’s not only here in Hearts of Oak or Ghana, but when I do well with my club; I am rewarded with call ups into my national team,” Foovi told the club’s media channel.

“I am Togolese and I am always happy when they call me into the national team but I have to score for my club and do well for the team before I can play for Togo.

“I have played a few games so far and I am not happy that the goals are not coming. I want to score to get the weight off my shoulder.

“I am working very hard, in fact I am training double hard all the time, and I believe when the goals start flowing, they will not end.”

Hearts of Oak will play against WAFA on match day eight in a mid-week fixture at the Ohene Djan Stadium on Wednesday.
